Our Season Dedication
“Every artist should have a MichaelJohn in their lives.
A caring friend and the most wonderful and always welcome company"

Fifty years ago, Chatham’s Monomoy Theatre hired a young actor with exceptional talent, skill, wit and personality. This actor was so popular on and off stage that he was invited to return to the Monomoy Theatre for many years as an actor and director of countless productions. His popularity stretched beyond the stage and into the community. MichaelJohn McGann, whose career on Broadway, in films and on television, as well as in theatres throughout America, was a major influence in the evolution of the Monomoy Theatre. The Monomoy Theatre eventually closed and grew into the Cape Cod Shakespeare Festival in Chatham. MichaelJohn did not have the opportunity to join CCSFC before he passed away, but his influence is still present in the work we do. We are proud to dedicate this third season of the CCSFC to his memory. As you sit in beautiful Kate Gould Park and watch our productions please know that MichaelJohn is here as well keeping a keen eye on everything we do.
